See How We're Responding to Covid-19
Landon School is a private, nonsectarian, college preparatory school for boys in grades 3–12, with an enrollment of approximately 680 students. Founded in 1929, the school started in a converted mansion in the heart of Washington, DC’s embassy row before moving to its present 75-acre campus in Bethesda in 1935.
Nearing its centennial, Landon School commissioned CGS Architects to create a Campus Master to help envision the School’s next 100 years. As part of this Master Plan, a new Upper School was imagined to serve as a gateway to the academic campus.
The new Boehly Upper School is designed to support a dynamic and forward-thinking academic experience, with dedicated facilities for STEM education, including state-of-the-art science and engineering laboratories. At the heart of the building is a central skylit commons area that functions as both a lecture and presentation space, as well as a vibrant hub for student interaction and community gathering. In conjunction with the new construction, the original Upper School building underwent a comprehensive renovation, modernized with updated technology and reconfigured classrooms, and now serves as the new home for Landon’s Middle School.
