Inaugural Launch of #WeAreCGS

On the last Monday of every month we will highlight a member of our CGS team. For July, get to know Joe Lobos from Miami, FL!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I grew up in sunny Miami, Florida. Growing up, I learned how to play four instruments: piano, cello, flute, and guitar. I also took lessons to fly a cessna right after high school. I’ve become fascinated with the world of wine as of late and have recently become WSET Level II certified.

What made you want to work in the architecture/design field?
I grew up in Miami during the downtown building boom and became fascinated with buildings. My music upbringing also played a big role in my decision to pursue architecture. Music is also a discipline where both creativity and technical precision are needed.

Tell us about your past work experiences.
I studied architecture at the University of Miami (B.Arch - Class of 2012). After graduation, I began working at a luxury residential architecture firm in Miami. I joined CGS Architects when I moved to Washington DC the summer of 2017.

Favorite CGS Project
Working on Construction Administration for the The Lab School, Miskell Theater in Washington, DC.
