John Eaton Elementary School is located in Washington DC’s Cleveland Park Historic District, in the shadow of the National Cathedral. Founded with just 20 students in the early 1900s, it now serves a community of over 500 hailing from all 4 quadrants of the District. In 2019, CGS Architects began designs to modernize Eaton; heavily influenced by the School’s historic buildings and its Many Cultures, One Community motto.
I hope that [this] level of inclusion and transparency carries through on other [DCPS] projects. We observed a good process and ultimately the selection of CGS as a thoughtful, open-minded, and talented partner is a testament to the hard work of your team. GCS-SIGAL/Grunley, through unprecedented events, built a wonderful school that will be a pillar of the Cleveland Park community for many years to come.

Martha’s Table’s mission goals are realized through three primary program pieces: Education, Health & Wellness, and Opportunity. CGS Architects worked diligently to build strong relationships with the Stakeholders and community, knowing this would lead the design.
