cox graae + spack architects designed the renovation of the Monastery building on the campus of Georgetown Visitation. It was desired that the aging Monastery building, parts of which date back to the early 1800’s, be upgraded to better meet the needs of its users, the Professed Sisters, Novitiates and Retreatants. Interior modifications were designed to improve the living facilities including private bathrooms and spaces for social gathering and prayer. The modifications also included improvements to the infirmary spaces, as well as upgraded building systems. Central air conditioning was also integrated into the historic structure.
