cox graae + spack architects designed the plan to integrate the free-standing landmarked President’s House into the Law School complex at The George Washington University. As the first phase of a long master plan to renovate and expand the Law School, the President’s House is designed to seamlessly interconnect the school’s adjacent building’s and continue its clockwise expansion around the University’s Main Quad. The new structure combines once-dispersed functions into a main administrative headquarters for the school. The unique exteriors of the historic structure at 20th and G Streets in Foggy Bottom were salvaged while infill construction was woven behind, below, and to either side.
